In 2009, with the release of their first collaborative album, "The Usual Suspects," On Won & Young Ciph brought a fresh, new-age sound to the state of Arizona, establishing themselves as the premier hip-hop sound coming out of the Southwest. Combining melodic tunes, catchy hooks and clever bars, On Won & Young Ciph began to make a name for themselves by touring throughout the Southwest and West Coast, opening up for artists such as E40, Game, Snoop Dogg and Dead Presidents. In 2009 On Won & Young Ciph met in the streets of Phoenix. Upon their first meeting, several lyrical battles made them gain respect for each other’s skills. That same day they went to the studio and recorded their first song. Since then they have relentlessly produced hit after hit together, mastering their sound of unique production, heavier arrangements, and dazzling lyrics. Within just a few weeks of meeting, they executive produced their first album, "The Usual Suspects." Flooding the streets and the air waves of Phoenix, they moved 10k units in two months. In a bizzare turn of events, they spent the rest of the year battling a legal case for which they were eventually acquitted of all charges. As soon as On Won and Young Ciph were released from Sheriff Joe Arpaios County Jail, they immediately began recording their next project at the Salt Mine Studios. Inspired by their real life events and motivated to reach the masses, On Won & Yong Ciph are the most prominent up-and-coming artist next to hit the music industry scene. Known primarily in the Southwest and West Coast, they are expanding their movement nationwide and to radio stations, DJ's and venues abroad. Stay tuned for their highly anticipated next album entitled, “The Won & Ciph Show” which promises to deliver more of On Won & Young Ciph and their flavorful sound.
